About the Source
The non- profit organization (NGO) Rank a Brand aims to provide consumers with a tool that helps them consume in a more considered and sustainable way. To achieve this, Rank a Brand carries out research on the webpages of hundreds of Brand manufacturers and accumulates all statements on the following topics: 1. Climate policy, 2. Protection of the environment and 3. Working conditions and human rights. The evaluation is based upon a short list of criteria that is in line with the strictest standards of the respective industry. The aggregate assessments (the "Ranking") as well as the individual criteria are published on the NGO´s webpage. To identify the green, yellow and red light companies, the percentage of achieved points in relation to the total possible points was determined. The Classification starts with the letter "A", for deep green with brands who have gained more than 75% of the total amount and ends with "E" which is considered red and for brands who gained less than 15%. This source is "hard" and influences the Sustainability Foorprint three times. This source is considered as "hard" and therefore has a threefold impact on the Sustainability Footprint.
